GPA Calculator
Calculate your Grade Point Average
About the GPA Calculator
The GPA Calculator works out your grade point average on the common US 4.0 scale, weighted by the credit hours of each course.
How it works
Each letter grade is converted to grade points (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on down to F = 0). Each course's points are multiplied by its credits, added together, and divided by the total credits. A 4-credit A and a 3-credit B give (16 + 9) ÷ 7 ≈ 3.57.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Does my school use the same scale?
Many US schools do, but some give A+ a 4.3 or use different values for plus and minus grades. Check your school's handbook.
Q. Can I calculate cumulative GPA?
Yes. Enter every course from all semesters, or add one row per past semester using your previous GPA as the grade equivalent and total credits as the credits.
Q. Is this weighted for honors or AP classes?
No. This is an unweighted GPA. Weighted scales add extra points for honors or AP courses.
